I hope, it's ok posting this but since it requires buying the game anyways I figured, it should be: If you install the game on a smartphone or tablet first, you can easily sideload it to the Shield using ES file explorer or a similar app. After sideloading you'll need to copy the Thimbleweed Park folder from Android/obb to the Shield, too. Since it doesn't show up on the home screen you'll need to open the game either from settings or from an app like sideload launcher. Not the easiest way to install a game, but if you've ever sideloaded an app before, it won't be a problem and it's worth the hassle. The game itself works like a charm on the Shield.
