The Thimbleweed Park Podcast turns 40 and goes out and buys a sports car. Unrelated to it's midlife crisis, our extra-special guest is Octavi "@pixelhuh" Navarro.

You can also subscribe to the Thimbleweed Park Podcast RSS feed if that's 'your thing'.

You can also get the podcast directly from iTunes.

¡Bienvenido!, Octavi! I haven't been to Spain, but I've studied Spanish so I wish to visit Spain. Let me buy you an ice cream. :-)

Ron, have you been to Sweden?

Marc - Feb 06, 2016 at 14:59
I did not buy a sports car when I turned 40! What kind of insinuation is that?

(I did buy a Fiat barchetta when I was 27, and still have this car after 21 years)

Octavi Navarro - Feb 06, 2016 at 15:27
Wow, I sound really nervous! It was great fun though! :D

Ricardo Marichal - Feb 06, 2016 at 15:46
Por fin alguien que habla un inglés perfecto. Perfecto para que yo pueda entenderlo, digo. :D

darkgaze - Feb 23, 2016 at 02:40
Hey Octavi . Que alegría que haya un apañol por ahi. Siguiendo vuestros progresos!
Hablas muy bien inglés, bien bien!

Arto - Feb 06, 2016 at 16:56
Dear Dr. Toybox. I'll turn 40 this year. I have no urge to buy a sports car. Am I abnormal?

Carlo Valenti - Feb 06, 2016 at 17:47
No, because you WILL have the urge when you turn. :D (just kidding)

Hi David (et al),

As you brought up the wetsuit, I have a question about that:
In Zak the pawn shop owner says " That's the last one with transparent gloves" when you buy the wet suit. Did you add that line late in development when you realised you forgot the gloves to get NASA's stamp of approval "suited for extra-terrestrial use" or was there some technical limitation on the C64? Or did Gary not figure out how to draw a hand in a glove?

David Fox - Feb 11, 2016 at 14:58
Sorry for the late reply... I don't remember, actually. Most likely, Gary drew the wet suit without gloves, and we decided that rather than go back and have him redo the art, it was way easier to just make a joke out of it and say they have transparent gloves... Also easier to see the hands on a dark background that way.

I think my NASA phone call was before any art was done, so it was my fault for not being specific and asking Gary for a gloved wet suit.

Sushi - Feb 12, 2016 at 10:05
Thanks to David Fox and Martin Wendt for the answers on the transparent gloves!
I figured it was indeed due to some technical limitation on the C64.
But a very nice touch to make that joke! Luckily Zak's shoes were black :)

(I post it here, as the comments of the friday questions are closed now)

Hello Octavi, nice to listen to you!
I can understand your nervousness, you are in a worldwide podcast, with the élite of people who made big the adventure games!
Believe me, everyone would be nervous! And your english is good to my ears, I understood everything!
Winter has never started in Italy, too. Temperatures are too high to be winter.
I really like your pixel art, and Mark Ferrari's too.
Hope to see you once in a lifetime!

David Fox - Feb 11, 2016 at 14:59
Wait and see :-)

Peter Brodersen - Feb 07, 2016 at 08:16
A meteor just hit Denmark as I was listening to your podcast.

Coincidence? I think so!

Frank Einstein - Feb 07, 2016 at 09:48
Is there a deadline for uploading the voice recordings for the phone book?

badde - Feb 07, 2016 at 12:15

I backed via Humble Bundle and didn't receive an email, only the "trial" meassage in early January.

How should I proceed?

Ron Gilbert - Feb 07, 2016 at 15:37
Contact me via the contact link and include the email address you would have used to back and I can look you up.

Carlo Valenti - Feb 07, 2016 at 16:58
I "backed" too a few months ago, well after the end of the kickstarter, so I did not expect to be contacted, and I was not and it felt right. Was it right, right?

Carlo Valenti - Feb 07, 2016 at 17:37
Yes, right

Jura Snodtball - Feb 08, 2016 at 06:37
Gary should have his own podcast. It should be called "Hangin' with Gary" or "Gary's Groovy Reader" and should ONLY be about comics!

Andreas - Feb 08, 2016 at 14:03
+1
And a blog called: "Gary's Commentaries"

urielz - Feb 09, 2016 at 02:22
Really excited to hear that the voicemails backers are submitting are funny! Question about that: Any chance there would be some customized response from the character to some of those voice mails? I imagine some of the voicemails might be perfect for that... a

You should visit New Zealand to celebrate a successful project ;)  Much better

Zak Phoenix McKracken - Feb 09, 2016 at 03:56
Why?

man with stick - Feb 09, 2016 at 06:53
Because of Hobbits, of course.

Ema - Feb 09, 2016 at 15:03
Because they have wonderful and cheap white wines. You won't regret italian ones.

Big Red Button - Feb 09, 2016 at 06:58
Did you eventually build up Chuck's room as a pseudo room? Do you still remember how you had implemented light-switching in Maniac Mansion?

Big Red Button - Feb 09, 2016 at 07:06
... or in Zak?

Zombocast - Feb 09, 2016 at 14:31
Ron and Gery are really quite mery in this episode of Thimbleweedpark. They have quite a lark talking about rooms light and dark and the amout of images is really quite scary. Mark and octavi make content like crazy then make jokes about david being lazy. I cant wait till next week where they give us a peek about the game and the voice actors they seek. Cheers!

Derrick Reisdorf - Feb 12, 2016 at 09:32
40th Thimbleweed podcast birthday?
Hmmm....That would mean every human year equals approximately 48.83 Thimbleweed podcast years.  Oh, how time flies.
