WANTED: Playtesters
Feb 18, 2016
What is the most anticipated game of 2016? No, not that one... No, not that one either... OK, pretend that one isn't coming out... No, next? That's right! Thimbleweed Park!
With the year drawing to a close... Yes, I know it's only February, but one of the joys of working in the "game biz" is that you start panicking about the end of the year in February.
With the year drawing to a close, it's time we ramp up the playtesting. We've done phase one, which is getting friends and family in to playtest, but now it's time to open it up to a more hostile and unforgiving crowd, which is where you come in...
Phase two of our testing will still be in person. We will not be sending out copies of the game to play, so you will need to live in one of the fun filled locations of Seattle, San Francisco or London to participate.
You will sit down with a member of Team Thimbleweed and spend two or three hours playing the game while we quietly watch (lab coats and clipboards are TBD) and then ask you a lot of questions.
Our goal is to do one or more of these each week over the next few months.
If you're interested, please fill out THIS FORM.
- Ron
Is the form automatically saving our gmail account? Because there is no contact info field in it...
Looks like I'll just have to wait until the game comes out.
LOL.. and to the lucky people who get to play test! Rock on!
I tend to play my adventures with my five year old now. (Recently finished the first spy fox, so now of course we also play "go fish" for real).
Do you need a father son pair, or is the content not appropriate for young'uns?
But I also hate spoilers, so, ok. ^^
you might consider to do playtests in other languages as well, later, e.g. German - I propose Hamburg as a location :-)
Until then, I look forward to the new trailer!
-- Stefan
actually I would be able to sleep there since a friend lives there and is working for that other big Seattle company starting with Ama***
I'm moving to Seattle with my family right now!!
After all: what's U.S.A.?
(must be a place I've seen at least once in some movie)
2 hours. Do you think we could try?
When he went to Microsoft, my first thought was: "such a waste of skills.". I'm glad, he doesn't want to waste it after all.
To open playtesting to potentially everyone in the world, without moving and without giving away copies of the game over the internet...
...
...could the member of Team Thimbleweed open a TeamViewer/WebMeeting session on HIS computer, letting the designed playtester connect on his machine, to play the game?
The Team Thimbleweed would quietly watch, and both parties can interact via webcam/hearphones/mic.
And the game is firmly glued in the Team Thimbleweed hard disk.
For Xbox testing the above is not possible, but at least for the Win PC version with the mouse, it is.
p.s. can somebody recommend a good screen-grabber software?
OK, better in person!!
Also do you know roughly where in London the sessions would happen?
I'd love to sign up, but I don't want to waste anyone's time if I can't make it =)
Cheers
Have fun guys and don't forget all the retro gamers around the world.
Is it London, ON, London, UK, other?
I'm up for the first one.

All right, I'll just buy a Learjet. Unless it is a must that I have to live in one of these cities? In that case I have to sell an apartment and get a new one... Do I need a green card?... I'll just go to London.
:-)
Too bad, I would have liked to meet you in person.
So just send me the shirt, all right?
My all time fav game is that little pony thing, naturally... :P
